The Hobbit: an Unexpected Journey is the first part of the film version of the JRR Tolkien novel which is divided into two parts. The movie is a prequel to the Lord of the Rings movies and features some same castings like Bilbo Baggins and Gandalf. A sales representative from a home security company posts his comment, “In ‘the Hobbit’ we get a good look at the "new" (younger) Bilbo Baggins who joined the team of dwarves, thanks to Gandalf's maneuvering. It looks great. I intensely expected this movie.”
We all must be happy to see Ian McKellen back in his Gandalf hat. And as expected, Martin Freeman makes a great Bilbo. In addition, the rich vision, the soundtrack, the characters, and the scenario are all top notch!
The key soundtrack in “The Hobbit” is a plaintive song which is sang by the dwarves who are prepared for their eastward march through the Misty Mountains to reclaim their heritage. The somber mood as the dwarves sing drops a hint that the story is not just a children's tale of dragons and treasure and magic. It means more.
The 153 seconds long video clip leaves us questions unclear. That’s one of the reasons this trailer attracts thousands of fans after its launch just for one day.
"You will promise that I will come back?" Bilbo asks.
"No."
At the end of the trailer, it leaves us a mystery. So what we learn from the trailer is not actually the final of the movie. This movie trailer is about part one of "The Hobbit," and the movie will be due in theatres next Christmas 2012. It will be a long period of waiting.
